Dyson DC04 Cable and Switch
Remember to have the appliance unplugged before attempting this repair
Tools needed and other information
A thin screwdriver is needed and should be bent approx 25mm from the tip at an angle of approx 70 degrees a T15 screwdriver is also required.
This repair is to gain access to the switch and cable fixing.
You can buy a cheap top quality T15 screwdriver here

First locate the small rectangular hole behind the on off button (red circle)

Now insert the bent screwdriver into this slot and pull upwards
This requires a few attempts and the idea is to unlatch the button

This is the button when removed, the latch can be now be seen.

This is a photo with the on off button removed. The screw can be seen now

Unscrew the screw with a T15 screwdriver and pull the switch housing up.
