DysonMedic.com

After putting this project off for quite a while i have finally decided to try and put a website together that will help people repair and service their own vacuum cleaners.

Most of the guides will have photographs to help.

This is an ongoing project and i will add content when i can so please check back if you can ,i will also offer advice on diagnosing common faults that can be inherant to the dyson vacuum.

Please choose your model at the top.

I am now currently adding user manuals for the dyson range.

These are in PDF format and can be read with adobe reader or the highly recommended foxit reader what is free, very quick and ideal for reading pdf documents

If you can link my website back to a relevant source i would greatly appreciate it and thank you to everyone who has emailed me so far.

Many thanks to those in the blogosphere who have helped drive traffic to my site.

Repairing and Servicing Dyson vacuums

The advice i offer here quite often involves taking apart electrical components. Attempting repairs can be dangerous.
In many instances work should only be undertaken by a qualified professional. If in any doubt please seek professional help

Filter maintenance

Dyson has stated that its vacuums have 100% suction 100% of the time i would like to explain why in my opinion this is not true,

The filters on the vacuum are designed to prevent dust entering the motor and dust and depending on the filter type, allergens and smells escaping from the vacuum.

The filters MUST be cleaned or replaced on a regular basis or they clog up and prevent cool air from entering the motor and exiting the vacuum that may cause the vacuum motor to burn out.

Dust from building work is especially good at blocking the filters as is "shake and vac" type carpet powders
